Despite their losing form, Norway has also won the contest 3 times: Bobbysocks! gave the country its first win in 1985, Secret Garden followed 10 years later in 1995, and in 2009, Alexander Rybak's Fairytale shattered the all-time point record and earned 16 sets of 12-point scores.
Norway was drawn to compete in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 16 May 2019. Performing during the show in position 15, "Spirit in the Sky" was announced among the top 10 entries of the second semi-final and therefore qualified to compete in the final on 18 May.
Norway has finished last in eleven Eurovision finals, of which four times with "nul points". Norway has a total of 12 top-five results in the contest, the latest being Alessandra 's fifth place in 2023 .
Even though the Eurovision Song Contest took place 64 times, it has 67 winners. In 1969, 4 countries topped the scoreboard with an equal amount of points; the United Kingdom, Spain, the Netherlands and France.
